About Dodeka Music

Dodeka is a music startup based in Switzerland that develops simple and innovative ways to learn and play music for a new generation of musicians.

Exploring new ways to music making and learning, Dodeka seeks to encourage musical expression by creating easy-to-read sheet music and musical instruments that anyone can play. For that, it introduces the Dodeka Music Notation and the Dodeka Keyboard Design, a revamped music notation and an isomorphic piano keyboard both designed to give beginners an easy path to music making and learning, while at the same time, opens up new creative possibilities to more advanced musicians.

Dodeka is the story of a young guy (not-so young now), Jacques-Daniel Rochat, who many times tried to learn to play a musical instrument. But, every time quit because music theory seemed to complex for him

Not giving up on his passion for music, Jacques-Daniel one day decided to invent a new way to write and play music with which he could easily and quickly make music. The Dodeka notation and the Dodeka keyboard were born.
